Oh my word I am so tired!  I have only had 4 hours sleep in the last 48 hours!  The nightclubs here are just too good, especially Hilo!  I get home at 5am then up for work at 7 am!  I am a dedicated volunteer! LOL!

went to a different orphange yesterday and it was amazing!  I really wanted to bring all the babies home especially Nathalie who is 8 months old. Such a happy smiley baby. She fell asleep on me, was so sweet. 

At this other orphanage the staff are so much nicer and the children are well behaved. I would loove to work somewhere like that full time.  Everyone there seems to care and things are done properly, makes you wonder why the other refugio isn't run like that.

Bit sad yesterday as lots of people leaving. You know what a wuss I am and was blubbing for ages!

Well best go  as i'm cooking for my roomies tonight, we`re having fajitas!

Caz and Gaz (yes really!) brought in a huge canvas and we got all of the children to do a handprint.  I know that sounds easy, but with these kids nothing is easy! However this morning was such a laugh and we made loads of progress. My spanish is certainly improving!   Caz took loads of photo's so when i get them I shall postthem on facebook or email etc.

Going to the pancake house now for breakfast and then to Walmart to buy some goodies for the children.

well i've had another had day at the office!!

we had a leaving party last night for the Greeks.  They have calmed down alot since they first arrived and I think we shall all miss them in our own way. 

makes it very real and not like a holiday when people  are leaving all the time. this week I shall lose all my flatmates apart from Suzy (fluzy).  Then on the 8th september we have to move to another apartment for the last week which I am not happy about as the one we have now is really nice and in a good location!  Oh well, suppose it's all part of the experience!

Going out tonight to the lovely el Palomar for a leaving meal for some of the others, boo hoo.

Th orphanage was very sad today and found out the history of one of the girls.  She was removed the other orphanage as some time ago some american volunteers were there and they took her out for the day, but instead of looking after her they abused her and now she is an emotional wreck and wary of all us volunteers as you can imagine.  There are some terrible stories and the way  that the madras (nuns) punish them is just awful.  They smack them and twist their ears and a favourite seems to be yanking them around by there hair!

We all find it very hard to deal with but the consensus is that is just the way things are done!  Anyway thats enough doom and gloom for one day!
Been gone 3 weeks tomorrow! Time is flying now!

Anna, thanks for changing the party date!! Looking forward to it already!!

Well we have certainly had some serious rain here! Been a downpour for 24 hours solid but fortunately the sun is back out and I can keep getting browner!  Although my legs seem to be staying a nice pasty white colour!!

So, today I went swimming with dolphins and I have to say it was the best experience i´ve had so far. Was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

We gave the dolphin fish and then the doplhin kissed us and we gave the dolphin a kiss back. We also went on a belly ride and that was loads of fun!  We had the alpha male dolphin weighing in at 800lbs and 3.5 meters long!  He swam very fast and I had to hold on rather tightly!

Managed to get some pictures, so I shall try and email them as a file to you all.

Went out last night.  Anna I have tried out the top of the bar for dancing!! Was very good, LOL.

Going out tonight for fajitas as some of the other volunteers are leaving in a coupole of days.  We have a new girl living with us called Suzy (fluzy) and she lives in Leeds!

Hurricane has definately passed us so no need to worry at all.

I went to a prison today!  Was a real eye opener. The women are lovely!!  Of course they are in there for a reason but to be honest i'd rather not know.  Most are in there for drugs and prostitution.  there is a few murderers and crazy ones!  They keep the gay and the crazy men seperate!

some of the other volunteers are teaching english there and have formed some good bonds with the women there.

The women are very happy and smiley which is suprising but I guess they are making the best of what they have.

There is alot of corruption in Mexico and the law system and lots of innocent people get put away.  One man who is Australian has been in the prson for 4 years and he still hasn't been charged. He may never be as the system is so bad that he will end up just lost in the paperwork.

I'm working in a couple of hours.  The night shift is hard work but at least I can take Friday off.

Well best go and apply the aftersun as got a bit burnt today!! !st time since i've been here so doing well I think!

starting to get into a routine of working now. I usually do the morning shift so then i have all the afternoon to myself.  Usually spent sunbathing!

Really starting to settle in after 2 weeks.  I have a few favourites at the orphanage and wish i could bring them home!!  A brother and sister got to go home to their parents yesterday which is really good. Most of the kids have parents in jail or their parents can't afford to keep them.  Apparetly when they get to a working age, alot of the parents come back so that they can make money out of them.

Went to "gay " karaoke tonight!! Was actually very boring as no one sang! Well no one "gay". Some of the people from our group sang though and without the aid of alcohol!! I didn't sing,which is probably a good thing!

Sorry for lack of photo's but this blog doesn't like to upload them!! Most of you can see them on facebook and those of you who don't have i will have to be bored to death by looking at them when i get home! LOL

I am so brave!!

Today I went to the the set of Predator, called El Eden.  Here I did whats called the "canopy" which is going along zip wire 130ft above the trees and waterfalls!! Reached speeds of 55mph!!!!!!!  There was around 16 zips in total and I think I have overcome my fear of heights!!

I am Lara Croft!!! hee hee. I have the video of it so you can all see it when I get home.

Tonight we are all going to a transvestite show!!

I had my hair braided today!!!!!! i think it looks fab!! Went with my friend charlie and we had it done together!!

Worked at the orphanage this morning and had  bit of a breakthrough with one of the kids.  Long story short I got her to apologise which is just not  a thing that is enforced here at all, so I feel quite chuffed with myself.

Went to some markets today and did some haggling over goodies, i'm quite good at it and got some bargains.

Had a lovely walk along the beach and got some prices for the parasailing. I'm doing something very scary tomorrow but you'll have to read tomorows blog to find out what it is!! LOL!

well it´s been a couple of busy days of sunbathing!!  5 star hotels, lovely beaches. it´s a hard life but someone has to do it!!

The internet at the apartment has crashed which is why i haven´t been on for a couple of days. (internet cafe at mo)

I went to the orphanage this morning at 8am, it´s like been a nanny again!! Really starting to get into it and have a couple of favourites already!

Met more people now. We have 2 Greek men living with us, but before you all get too excited they ain´t good!!  A mixture of greek and american = sleazy overexcited yuk! LOL!

I have decided to get over my fear of heights by doing a parasail on the back of a boat!! Supposed to be doing it next week. EEEKK, feel sick just at the thought of it.!!

Anna I am nearly at ease with the toilet thing now, i can put paper down and cope with that! LOL!

well, i had my first shift in the orphanage yesterday. there is a choic of 4 hour shifts, 7-12, 12-4 or 4-8. I did the late shift.

It was a massive eye opener and quite hard to believe. The children are quite sweet, until they start to argue and then it's every child for themselves.  At first I wasn't enjoying it. I was upstairs with the babies, about 8 of them which was fine untilnI was left on my own. Then they started to cry and fight and bite. It was really full on and for a  brief moment I wanted to come home!  Think it was a mixture of all the anticpation of whatto expect just getting to me!  I soon got over it though and by the end of the 4 hours it was ok.  Certainly ready for a beer tho!

Went to an amazing club last night and we managed not to pay and the drinks were really cheap! Rolled home at about 4am. FAB!!

The apartment is nice and clean whic is good. Sharing with a coupleof girls who had to move from another place so that i wasn't on my own.

Have been to the orphanage breifly, kids are very sweet.  They are having a bg party tomorrow so I have arrived in time for that.

Going to the pub later, all you can drink for 2 dollars. I feel a craze of starting the "Mexican " challenge Anna.

Right well gotta go before internet konks as i'm pinching a wireless network!

Hotel is rather nice as there is free internet and a massive plasma tv!! Just what I need after sitting on the plane all this time!

So Mexico here i come (tomorrow).  Already met some random person so we have swapped email addresses, well you know what i'm like, talk to anyone that will listen!

Just hope that I have packed everything, no doubt I will check everything again and again till I finally fall asleep!

Well not much else to say, but here is the start of my adventure.
